Full Definition:
Hyperglycaemiaoccurs when the amount of blood glucoseexceeds normal values, especially due to insufficient secretion of insulinor resistance to it. It is common in people with diabetes mellitus, but it can also occur temporarily due to stress, infections, or excessive consumption of carbohydrates.
Usual values:
- To jeun (on unsold): over 126 mg/dl(7 mmol/l)
- After meal: fish 180 mg/dl
Common symptoms:
- Intense thirst
- Frequent urination
- Blurred vision
- Fatigue
- Wounds that are hard to heal
Intermittent post connection:
Intermittent fasting can help reduction of hyperglycemia, via:
- Improving Sensitivity to insulin
- Decreased insulin resistance
- Reduction of systemic inflammation
Caution:
Untreated prolonged hyperglycemia can lead to serious complications: damage to the kidneys, eyes, nerves or blood vessels.
